Dispensary Questions

What do I need to bring to Beleaf?

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID proving you are at least 21 years old (driver's license, passport, or state ID card) and a payment method. Beleaf accepts cash and debit cards. No medical card, prescription, or special license is required for recreational cannabis purchases.

What are Beleaf's hours of operation?

Beleaf Brooklyn (1077 Atlantic Ave): Mon–Sun: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Beleaf Calverton (4462 Middle Country Road): Sun: 12–8 PM | Mon–Thu: 9 AM–8 PM | Fri–Sat: 9 AM–10 PM. Beleaf Medford (262 Middle Island Road): Sun–Thu: 9 AM–8 PM | Fri–Sat: 9 AM–10 PM. Hours may vary on holidays.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No. Beleaf operates as a walk-in dispensary. No appointment is required. Arriving during less busy times like weekday mornings or early afternoons typically means shorter waits.

How long does a dispensary visit take?

A typical visit takes 10-30 minutes depending on store traffic, whether you need staff recommendations, and whether it is your first visit requiring registration. Repeat customers with specific product preferences can complete visits in 5-10 minutes.

What is customer registration and why is it required?

New customers complete a brief registration form collecting name, contact information, birthdate, and ID details. Registration creates your customer record in the state system as required by New York law. Registration happens once; subsequent visits do not require re-registration.

Is delivery available?

Yes. Beleaf offers delivery from all three locations. Brooklyn delivers by e-bike to 22 neighborhoods. Calverton delivers by vehicle to the East End. Medford delivers by unmarked vehicle to central Suffolk (Local, West, and East zones). Delivery requires minimum order amounts and valid ID verification at delivery.

What payment methods does Beleaf accept?

In-store: cash and debit accepted. Delivery: AeroPay only (no cash, no debit). Standard credit cards are not currently accepted at licensed cannabis dispensaries in New York due to federal banking restrictions.

Can I use insurance to pay for cannabis?

No. Health insurance does not cover recreational cannabis purchases. Cannabis is not a medical prescription, so insurance claims do not apply. All purchases require out-of-pocket payment.

Do I need a medical card?

No. Recreational cannabis purchasers do not need medical cards or prescriptions. You must be at least 21 years old and have valid ID. New York does have a separate medical cannabis program (MMMP) for qualified patients.

What if I am unsure what to buy?

Tell staff you are a first-time customer or uncertain about products. Beleaf budtenders are trained to help based on your experience level, consumption method preference, desired effects, and budget. Starting with lower-dose products is recommended for new consumers.

How should I store cannabis at home?

Store cannabis in cool, dark locations away from direct sunlight, in sealed containers maintaining consistent humidity, away from heat sources, and in secure locations inaccessible to children and pets.

What are possession limits in New York?

Adults 21+ can legally possess up to 3 ounces of cannabis flower and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis outside the home under the MRTA. Storage limits inside a private residence are higher. Pre-rolled joints count toward the flower weight. Check cannabis.ny.gov for the latest limits.
